Looking for an Italic refresher class?
Access the supply list here
This workshop is designed just for you! Learn the elegant Italic letterforms that developed during the 15th century Italian Renaissance. We’ll cover letter, word and line spacing; learn tips and tricks for working successfully with broad edged pens; and discuss layout & design principles. As time permits, we’ll use Zoom tools and features to “share” student work for feedback. Additional insights for left-handers! This is a four-session (3 hours each) online workshop via Zoom.
This workshop is for Friends of the Alphabet exclusively, and will be limited to 20 students. The workshop fee is $95, payable to Friends of the Alphabet. If you know someone who is not in the Guild, but would like to learn more about Italic and broad edge pens, please share this information. They are welcome to join the Guild for the usual membership fee of $24 in addition to the $95 workshop fee (total $119).
Diane Stum Fekete has been a calligrapher, instructor and artist for more than 25 years. She’s taught calligraphy, book binding, paper decoration techniques and mixed media painting for art guilds, home school associations, community college and private clients, as well as at Naropa University in Boulder CO. She has been an active member of several calligraphy guilds and served as president of Michigan Association of Calligraphers. In her current artwork, Diane explores the intersection of western calligraphy and abstract painting, which she exhibits locally, nationally and internationally. Diane joined FotA after relocating from Colorado to Georgia in mid -2018. She has been instrumental in getting our Guild ready for online workshops. We are very glad to have her!!
